John Craine - 1924-2009
John Craine, who worked as County Extension Agent in Greene County from 1960 to 1984, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Prior to that time, he served as 4-H Agent in Darke County and taught vocational agriculture in Hancock and Mercer Counties. He was very active in giving leadership to local livestock organizations through promotional activities. He also worked with the establishment of the Greene County Agronomy Board and helped further the activities of the Greene County Farm Forum. John was an ardent supporter of Extension programs including 4-H and worked to promote agriculture.
Contributions in John’s name can be made in care of the Greene Co. 4-H Program and sent to 100 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385 or to VITAS Hospice. 1 Elizabeth Place, Dayton, Ohio 45408. John and his wife, Carolyn, made Xenia their home.
