Sarah Puchala Receives Farm Forum Scholarship

Sarah Puchala a graduate of Carroll High School was selected recently to receive a $500 scholarship from Greene County Farm Forum. She plans to attend The Ohio State University in the fall majoring in Food Science. While in high school Sarah was active in many organizations including Family and Consumer Science Club, Spanish Club, Ecology Club, and played tennis, ran track, and played basketball. Sarah is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Key Club. She and her family live in the Bellbrook area.
Locally Grown Foods Feature 
Greene Co. Farm Forum will feature Mark Guess as their speaker on Monday August 24. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and be held at Union United Methodist Church located at the corner of Union and Washington Roads SE of Xenia. Cost of the program is $8 which includes a meal.
Mark Guess is well known for his innovativeness in raising many vegetable crops including peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, and popcorn over the years. This is in addition to corn and soybeans. The operation is known as GROCO Family Farms. Mark will share information on their crops produced, challenges in raising specialty crops and harvesting problems.
