About the OSU Extension Office of Greene County

Our Mission: Engaging people to strengthen their lives and comunities through research-based educational programming. The Greene County Office is one of 88 offices that bring the research and resources of The Ohio State University to your front door.

Office Hours and Location
The OSU Extension Office of Greene County is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We are located on the Greene County Fairgrounds - 100 Fairground Rd., Xenia, OH  45385. We may be reached by phone at 937-372-9971 or 937-427-2883, Ext. 5052.  Our fax number is 937-372-4070 and e-mail is gree@ag.osu.edu.

Program Areas

Agriculture and Natural Resources
Agriculture and Natural Resources educators help farmers, gardeners, landowners and businesses.  In addition, we train Master Gardeners who, in turn, extend research-based yard and garden information. 

4-H and Youth Development
4-H
is a nationwide community of young people, who learn about leadership, citizenship, and life skills.  4-H offers over 200 4-H projects to complete and showcase at the Greene County Fair. Members may also compete at the Ohio State Fair. Youth Development also includes CarTeens and School Enrichment programs.

Family and Consumer Sciences
Family and Consumer Sciences
educators and specialists help build strong families. We offer programs and information on parenting and family life, adult developmet and aging, and balancing life, jobs and families, and health. We also offer nutrition and food safety information and help people manage money and prepare for retirement.

Community Development
Community Development
educators and specialists enhance communities by working with the business community, current and emerging community leaders, and elected and appointed officials.
