Quick Tips for 4-H Volunteers
Getting Organized
- Pick up an Organizational Packet at the Extension Office.
- Set your 4-H Club meeting dates at the beginning of the year.
- Keep all 4-H information organized in a notebook or 3-ring binder.
Planning the Club Year
- Review the 4-H Calendar of Dates for the dates and deadlines that apply to your club.
- Schedule your meetings to help 4-H members meet these deadlines. For example, 4-H project enrollments
are due on April 1, so plan to hold a club meeting in late March for members to finalize project choices.
Getting it all Done
- Include members and parents in coordinating projects and committees. Ask for help! Parents will often
help when asked; sometimes they just don't know what to do to help you.
- Use an agenda at every meeting. Write the agenda on poster-board or dry-erase board or make a
copy for each member.
